
Finance and Operations Manager
Wadia works with Root Change’s global team and partners to ensure the efficient management of financial and operational processes, supporting the organization’s resilience and compliance with policies across diverse stakeholders, including foundations, aid agencies, and NGOs. She oversees project budgets, manages grants, leads audits, and implements strategic expense procedures. In addition to her financial oversight, Wadia manages HR functions, including employee onboarding, payroll and benefits administration, personnel policy compliance, and fostering a positive workplace culture and safety. She also leads administrative and operational functions, overseeing IT systems, managing user accounts across platforms, and optimizing internal workflows to ensure seamless operations. Furthermore, she maintains the backend of the organization’s website and coordinates its social media outreach.
Wadia has extensive experience in management and communications, having worked in Afghanistan’s public and private sectors as well as in the Afghan media. She earned her MBA from the University of Mary Washington and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in German Studies from the University of Richmond. When not working, Wadia enjoys spending time with her husband and children.
