Luissana Santibañez

Luissana Santibañez is Coordinator for the Coalition for Dignified Housing where she is exercising the power of community organizing against gentrification in San Antonio, TX. As a Community Power Leader, Luissana is embedding reflective, collectively driven circle-keeping practices with an all women’s clay collective, MujerArtes Cooperative. She aims to support the actualization of their mission & vision for the long road ahead & to see it thriving with new members & generative practices. Through the Community Power Group Learning Initiative, she is participating in the exchange of ideas & praxis models for root change from leaders across the country, & soon from around the world! After obtaining her B.A. in History from UT Austin, she was a Soros Justice Fellow with the Open Society Institute, served as a Community Health Worker & as a youth/parent educator for justice involved families for over a decade, & in 2022, was selected as a UTSA Democratizing Racial Justice Community Fellow for the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center. In her spare time, Luissana can be found playing with her three children, dancing in ritual, & cooking delicious meals with her loved ones.
